Smolen & Smolen has been handling all types of legal matters for over 60 years.  Founded in 1951 by Jack Smolen, Esq., joined by his son Howard Smolen, Esq. in 1978, the firm has the know-how and resources to handle your legal needs.


  • EDUCATION: Jason obtained his Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University in 2015.  While at Cardozo, Jason was an Associate Editor of the Cardozo Law Review.  Prior to attending Cardozo, Jason received a Bachelor's Degree in Politics, Economics, and Law, Magna Cum Laude, from the State University of New York at Old Westbury, and also received an Academic Excellence Award and was on Dean's List each semester.
  • ADMISSIONS:  Jason is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, and the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.  
  • EXPERIENCE:  Jason spent the Summer of 2013 as a Legal Intern at the Suffolk County Attorney's Office, Torts Department.  In addition, Jason spent the Summer of 2014 as a Legal Intern with the Nassau County District Attorney's Office, Appeals Bureau.  Most recently, Jason spent the Spring of 2015 as a Legal Intern at the Legal Aid Society of Nassau County, District Court Trial Bureau. 

Howard Smolen, Esq.

  • EDUCATION: Howard obtained his Juris Doctor from St. John's School of Law in 1978.  Prior to attending St. John's School of Law, Howard received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Magna Cum Laude, from Baruch College, City University of New York in 1975. While at Baruch, Howard was President of the Honor Society and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the academic honor society for the study of business.

  • ADMISSIONS: Howard is admitted to practice in New York, the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York, and Southern District of New York.  He is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals, 2nd Circuit, and the United States Tax Court.
